Cabbagetown originally consisted of the Fulton Bag and Cotton Mill and the housing built for the factory workers. Although closed in 1977, the mill was not converted to rental housing until the mid 90's. In 2006, Aderhold Properties, Inc. and Jennings Partners Inc. converted a large portion of the cotton mill into New York-style lofts. Since then, several other smaller loft communities have been developed as well. Take a stroll through Cabbagetown and you will notice many of the bungalows and cottages that distinguish this area have been or are currently undergoing renovations. Still in the early stages of revitalization, Cabbagetown is sure to become one of Atlanta's hottest housing districts with the recent developments.
