Chamblee
Chamblee is located northwest of Atlanta, just north of Interstate 85 and south of the northern section of Interstate 285.
Home to Antique Row with more than 150 antique dealers, Chamblee is quite notably the south's largest antique area. Chamblee was once known for its rolling hills and numerous dairies until the 1917 construction of Camp Gordon. Camp Gordon closed shortly after World War I and after World War II, the city experienced a growth in its industrial areas. In the 1980's, many manufacturing sites downsized or closed and in the 1990's the City Council developed zoning for the International Village. The International Village overlay was the first zoning in metro Atlanta that allowed for mixed-use development and promoted livable, pedestrian-friendly neighborhoods. Chamblee is also home to Georgia's second largest airport, the DeKalb-Peachtree Airport.
