Piedmont Heights

Pidemont Heights is bounded by Piedmont Circle on the north, Piedmont Road on the east, Monroe Drive on the south, and Flagler Avenue on the west.

Piedmont Heights consists of around 1,600 homes and dates back to 1912. In the 1940's, W. L. Monroe opened a nursery and it brought employment and residents to the area. Interstate 85 was built in the 1950s, Piedmont Heights began to experience encroaching commercial development and rezoning. The Piedmont Heights Civic Association was formed to combat these problems and is still alive and active today. The area contains a large selection of restaurants and retail.
