Vinings
Located just northwest of Atlanta in Cobb County, Vinings is bounded by Stillhouse Road and Ranch Road to the north, Cobb Parkway to the east, railroad tracks to the west, and the Chattahoochee river to the south.
Vinings was created by the Western and Atlantic Railroad in 1836 to connect the Chattahoochee and Tennessee rivers and several other railroads. During the Civil War, General William Sherman and his Union troops camped atop Vinings Mountain before moving to their next target- Atlanta. In the mid 80's, construction began on a town center, now "Vinings Jubilee", a shopping and dining area. Located just 15 minutes from Buckhead, Vinings is experiencing a major growth spurt with an abundance of retail, restaurants, and mor recently, condos and townhomes. Victorian architecture abounds in Vinings.
